just wondering what the difference is?

As far as i know, a service is oil change, oil filter, plugs leads etc...

What is involved with a tune?

My car is an EA...

in a tune they'd probably adjust the timing and that.

in a general cheap service i doubt they would even look at your plugs or air filter. I know some places if you ask for a tune they will jsut change all your plugs, lead cap rotot even without looking at it and look at your timing

Well as far as i know a general Service consists of the following in most cases:
Oil change
Oil filter change
Air filter change (if needed)
Full check of trans, coolant and brake fluid levels

And a tune is usually
Fuel filter
Injector cleaning
Changing Plugs
Changing Leads

Thiers alot of other little things you can do but every mechanic is different.
