Not sure about EF's, but the ED's have a battery box with a snorkel.
And you could put some vents in the top of the cover too if you needed too. It'll be interesting to see how this turns out.

it's just flecy material it'll not over heat coz of the vent to the side and the snorkel in the bottom

I might change how its held in if it was me.
Having it held in by the radiator cap will be a b**ch if you need to take the cover off when the car is hot. You will get burned as the pressure releases as you open the cap up. I would make it do you can take the cover off without taking the radiator cap off. Do you know what i mean ? ? ? |

I might try something like this when i get my car back. |

True i might cut some lugs in the side so it'll slip off over the cap no big deal just a nother clip to hold it in

An enclosed battery isnt illegal - just be sensible, make sure the snorkle is attached and positioned effectivly..
Many cars use enclosed batterys as they look ugy, alot of small cars are doing this ive noticed along with american/euro cars and jags have them next to the spare tyre! Be nice when its all done n looks made to fit i bet.
