Just setting my Wolf up for ignition, the manual says i need to " lock" the dizzy. But i thought there was no centrifugal advance as advance was done by the EEC...
Is this right? |

mmmmmm tough one, to tell you the truth i honestly dont know. but one way to know for sure is to check is to see if there is a vacuum line going to the dizzy.
come to think im pretty sure they dont cheers

the dizzys are electronically advanced. Meaning the ECU controls the advance. This started from the XF series 2 onwards.

Great, yep I had an XF long long time ago, it had cent' advance. So thats good, dont have to weld up the shaft like on some dizzys.

Hi.
Ed series vehicles dont have centrifugal or vacuum advance. It has a tfi module and is basically controlled by the ecu. |

it should be a setting in your trims. Base timing?
With mine there is a "locked" option. ill do a screan shot to show

Wolf meant locking it by welding the shaft on a dizzy with centrifical force advance... They say to to put the crank at 22deg adv and point the rotor at no 1 lead

You can probably offset this electronically as well... i.e. if your engine has a mechanical base advance of 10, there's more than likely the option to offset this by -12 and get your -22 total base....
