Went to d**k Smiths today with the part nunmber for the resistor I got from the changing instrument cluster technical doco (R1662) and it turns out they no longer have those resistors. They don't have any 1 watt 47 ohm resistors any more. closest thing was a 5 watt version (automatically cross referenced when he typed the 1 watt part number in) - part number of this one is R1642 still $0.30.

Being physically bigger it was harder to mount, so I put it on the front. Here's a picture. Not enough space ebtween the circuit board and plastic back casing.

Anyways, thought I'd make you guys aware of this incase anyone else has to go through this ordeal. Or you can just go to JayCar, but they were much further away and I didn't have time...

I don't bother with DS anymore, they've turned into nothing but a $2 crappy gadget shop - except they overcharge.

Unfortunately Jaycar looks like going the same way (at lease the Canberra store).
