Hi all :D

I am considering fitting the EL optional XR kit on my EA (mainly the side-skirts) and I was wondering if any other modders have done something similar? Also, I would probably also consider firring the front and rear skirts, but being moulded to match the EL's bumper, how difficult would the front and rear be to fit?

Cheers

Dan :?

The sideskirts will go on fine.
But the front and rear skirts won't or the boot spoiler. Bonnet vents would take quit a bit of work too.
It may be possiable to adapt the front and rear skirts with a lot of work and I don't think you'd ever get it looking too nice. What you might consider if fitting EF/EL bottom to your EA-ED top - I think someones already done it. Then you might have more chance fitting the front skirt (you could prolly get a fiberglass aftermarket copy and work it on with some effort).

Alot of work involved and all up I don't think it'd be that worthwile as tyhe EF/L kit doesn't really compliment the EA-ED shape!

I did have EF bottom half joined in onto my EA top bumpers but have since got rid of them, pics are in my gallery anyways if you wish to look.

If i was to do it again i would make them tad shorter as it used to bottom out on kerbs and speed humps and then use the XR lips.

Some one (think it is a Burgandy ED) has fitted the whole ef bumper with a bit of cut and shut around the middle looks tops IMO.

Give it a go i say, good luck

Theres such a good range of bodykits available to the EA-ED series i dont see why you'd want a EF xr kit

I want it to look subtle, like factory kit. The main idea is to make an FPV-like version (Holden->HSV, if you will) of the EA, I dont want a wild kit or massive chrome mags, I'd rather pick through a Ford parts catalogue to choose mags and a kit to modify...
If you can think of a bodykit that would be similar to what I have described then let me know :)

goto the SSV site and canberra car styling and all those. They have heaps of pics. The sprint bodykits look nice and subtle or do the ED xr front end

if your cars still a 3.9 CFI you'd want to fix that before spending money on a bodykit

biggav, how much did it cost you to join the top of your EA bar to the EF bar? Was it particularly difficult?

wasnt difficult at all, all up probally 160 per bumper bar finished.

but as i said before if i was to do it again i would make the bar shorter by like 2 Inches to stop scrape's.
