Rocked up to a mechanic today doing deliveries and guess what was there for a service?
Here's two dodgy shots with my camera phone (Nokia 6600 with a s**t VGA camera - time to upgrade).

See how the number plate thingo and reverse lights have been taken off the tailgate and fitted to the reear bar? looks hot as in teh flesh! so clean looking on the back, and it ahs full NL Fairlane front end and interior!

my mate done that to a VN wagon...totally flat tail gate and the number plate in a custom bumper.....looked fat as...it wasnt done bodgy either....everything was cut & welded...

The fronts on AU are all the same. Only difference comes at the rear between LWB or SWB and sedan or wagon. In other words, sedan fronts are the same as wagon fronts obviously!

Hammond conversions in sydney do Limo's and a***'s

Generally they are a modified falcon. Ie they buy a falcon slap the fronts on them and all the exterior trimmings, on the inside they are still Stocker!

Down here there is a Limo which looks like an NL but its an NA on the inside!

if you change the wole front end dont see any problems. i.e guards, bonnet, bumper bar + rio lights etc

Doesn't the AU-era Fairlane have the bigass ugly Americanised front end? I don't think parts would be interchangeable with a Falcon. The whole thing, maybe. The lights are totally different, though, so's the grille.

I think even changing over the entire front end would present issues. Can't be a simple thing.

Im just hoping whoever began this thread intentionally meant to write 'hurst' rather than a***..

What is the deal with 'a***', can someone clarify what this means?

It's actually called a "a***" .... has been for centuries .... it's a vehicle (originally horse-drawn)for conveying a coffin to a church or cemetery.

I have never heard of the other 2 names mentioned ever.

EDIT: ... OK ... now I know why the damn swear-control works ... LOL
Bastard

It's means to be a "HEAR5E" ... with a number 5 instead of S
