I've done it up as tight as, and put on a new belt, but at high revs/load it jumps off...

Any ideas why this is happening?

no worries
the bearings were shot in my idler pulley so there was a bit of movement side to side on the pulley.

my ed did this.
the belt was worn more on one side.
i replaced it and it's never fallen off since.
the other thing to take note of if the belt is sitting perfectly straight.

Well, just put a new belt and pulley and it still came off... maybe it needs a new pulley on the pump?
