hey guys, after a drive to geelong last night, come back, pulled over at a servo, talked n crap, got back in and the gearbox is making a weird noise, sort of like a belt or something ... i cant describe the sound tho.. in D its fine and idling at the lights in D is fine, as soon as i put it in N it makes this wirling noise n its really loud ... n also in reverse, the steering wheel shutters up and down

Tell me more. Does it sound anything like a mobile phone on a hard table viabrating when rung? Its the closest thing I can describe the noise my box is making to.

Does it not do it in Drive or is it just quieter?

Sounds like either low oil or bearing failure.

Yea bad analogy, mine is more of a belt wine than a vibration aswell. It only happens when its kicking down though

So far the best guesses ive had is bearing failure.
