My Fairmont is doing exactly the samer thing. to date I have changed the coil, leads, plugs, and put in a brand new distributor. The fuel pump has been tested and the fuel filter changed. The ICS has been cleaned spotless and the car is still stalling intermittantly.

If anyone can help Id be eternally greatfull.

A new fuel relay went in about three weeks ago and so far there has been no stuttering or problems. Hopefully this will be it.

Yep i too had this problem on my cfi version of this car.

2 things that will do it.

corroded ecu and fuel pump relays.
Or the MAP sensor.

Still cutting out.

Pulled the ECU and I inspected it as well as the plug pins and both are clean and dry with no hint of corrosion or damage of any kind. Also, it has had another dizzy put in.
Yesterday morning the fuel pump on it did not prime even though it is a brand new pump put in nearly two months ago.
A tap on the bottom of the fuel tank with a mallet and this time it primed properly and the engine started. Not making much sense that a new fuel pump is not priming properly and I'm wondering if perhaps the wiring connectors for the fuel pump might be dirty or not making proper contact?
Anyone got any further thoughts on this?

Same problem since first post. The fuel pump was changed along the way but the problem is still ocurring. Which is why I am thinking its something electrical or a bad connection somewhere.

Yes but the thing is that the fuel pump did not prime - it did not make that humming sound when you turn the ignition on. That means that it is either faulty or there is no power to it.

This is just a long shot but have you checked the earth lead where it attaches to the engine block.
My CFI EA used to miss over bumps in the road sometimes.
The earth lead bolt was nearly ready to fall out.
