check out shaker.com.au and you can see some pictures. it's the scoop thingo that sits on top of the V8 engines and comes through the bonnet to get air for the car. called a shaker i presume because it's attached to the engine and so would shake or move with the engine.

what typ of shaker?

spirt/C**k shaker?

or the shaker scoop?

i am pressumignthe scoop on the XY's

it was a air scoop that protruded through the bonnet to allow cold air and some ram air induction to the engine and was called "A shaker scoop" as it moved with the torque of the engine

Yeah i have a feeling i read somewhere that at full noise during bathurst they shook, and then yeah hence the "shaker" name. And also at idle they also would shake as the darn things are attachted to the top of the motor.

hmm is this for your AU?
if u wanted to do a DIY job u can do it for way cheaper. personally i would not bother if its going to cost 1300. not worth the power increase. if u buy a BA 1 of the options is a shaker kit. :D
