Is there a flash tuner available for EF XR6's?

If not is there a way to run the BA ecu on the EF XR6.

What sort of things needed and what costs.

I would like to be able to tune my own car with my PC.

I don't want to go and pay $ to someone else everytime I do a change.

No there isnt, a BA ECU is not a possability.

Whats your budget around $2000 will get you a progrmamble ECU and everything required.

Not untill next year according to CAPA.

Ask them about putting the BA ecu in your car, im not sure if the flashtuner can disable the security things or not.

Incidently a guy at work is putting a 3V V8 from a BA into his Nissan patrol using the BA ecu, but apparently they have less integration with the car than a I6.

Will still require a security bypass for the V8, but very interesting project, please start a thread and post details as it progresses, regardless of vehicle, its a BA motor and ECU going into a non BA car, very interested.

How can a BA ECU run an EF XR6 is designed for twin cam and variable cam timing completely different motors. I think an AU VCT ECU would have a far greater chance of working, and the edit for that is just around the corner from what I hear.

Yeah it's cool but I don't know him too well and it sounds like he is taking it slow. The hard bit at the moment as I hear it is getting the ecu to talk to the car. It's a late model Patrol and both the BA ecu and the Car body runs a CAN bus. Of course they are not compatable..... And the ecu needs things like handbrake and brake signals, ABS signals etc. etc.

The BA ECU is good though since it came free with the engine + $999 CAPA flashtuner and you have a powerfull ECU. Nice of Ford to put them in the engine bay so you tend to get them with half cuts.
