Can any one tell me what pins need to be connected to get the
tacho working on a later series eb s pack dash. The dash has smart lock- etc , i have removed all the bulbs that do not work on the newer dash, as ea does not know what they are of course. |

Pin 8 on the lower, 16-pin connector is the tacho input. You need to run a wire from there out to the ignition coil. You probably already know this but I'll mention it just in case: you'll also need to replace the oil pressure switch on the engine (nfc where though I'm afraid) with an oil pressure sender (otherwise the oil pressure gauge won't work right) as well as running a wire from the battery + terminal to pin 9 on the clusters upper, 12-pin connector for the voltmeter.

Thanks for the info i dont wish to sound to dumb, but pin 8 is it on the left or right side & do i need to run a earth wire next to the opposite pin.

the connector has a common earth. and its pin 8 from the left , everything starts from the left, but thats only a guess (A) dont quote me on it
