Some wreckers do a reconditioning of their power window motors, as EA to EL models all share the same power window assembly.
Remove yours first, then when you buy a reco power window motor, you hand yours in, as the reco ones have tougher cables and are thoroughly tested. If you have never touched yours before, it will be riveted to the door. You need to drill the rivets out and fit nuts and bolts for the new motor. Graphite powder and WD 40 helps the windows to glide smoothly up and down.

Take off trim and locate connector just below window motor. using a spare battery and some wire test your motor from the connector if it works then u have to look further ie switchs etc.

Also, what are the telltale signs that a motor is s**t itself, not just catching. |

Try holding the button down hard. Mine did that for months... if I pressed the button normally - nothing happened, but if I pressed it down really hard, it would work.
After about 8 months of that, the window fell off the tracks, and into the door (cable snapped), so I had to get off my a** and fix it. took about 1 hour to replace everything... (then another week to be bothered putting the trim back on.)
