nope.... can be a tough atmo motor with a shot of nitrous....
virtualy any engine can benefit from a shot of nitrous if set up correctly...
even a scooter!!!!

No a turbo does not require a shot of nos but when drag racing the nos is often used to get the turbo up on boost and eliminate lag, im getting a 75shot on teh ef when the turb goes on for this reason.
