Didn't the 'monts have the carpet remain over the factory sub position? So no problem.

Q: Why get a 8" when you already have a 12"?

The stock high series with subwoofer keep the carpet over the speaker AFAIK. so is there any point removing it, unless maybe you've got a grill to cover it anyway. ???

i had an 8" subwoofer mounted in my EF Futura parcel shelf a little while back. I didnt cut the carpet out, simply mounted underneath. Looked like nothing was ever there - ie...not a theft target. As subs put out only low frequency sounds it doesnt matter where you mount it...there is no point to cutting the carpet and ruining your whole parcel shelf unless you want some cool looking, highyl visable 'steal me' item

its pretty easy to mount, as long as you put something between the carpet and the sub to stop them touching. i used door stops, worked well

As the pro said this is very true. The 8" Free air setup in the parcel shelf will give a massive reduction as compared to the boxed 12"

But if you only want something petite that wont deafen you or the neighbours, they ok

another question will the rear brake light interfer with the placement and with the door stops you place them on each side of the sub then?

Fortunately the rear brake light (the top one) is just out of the way enough for this to be no problem. With the doorstops (or whichever other chok you use) just place them wherever its necessary to hold the carpet up just that 1mm or so above the speaker. The carpet is pretty stiff so you will probably only have to use 2 to keep it up. Remember dont raise it to high or it will look silly.

Oh, and dont forget to put rubber between the speaker and the metal shelf...trust me, if you dont, it vibrates like nothing else

Just a small question! How much was the sub?

Do you have a full stereo - cause im trying to save money so i was thinking of just keeping the standard splits in front rears in the back and adding an 8 inch sub!!

Would this make it all better! Or would just getting some better splits and rears do the same?

for 20 dollars more you could have got a descent 10" or pretty good 12" driver. i am a big fan of the 10's they are just perfect for cars
