do i need to use a torque wrench to tighten the thermostat housing bolts or can i just tighten them normally.
dont want to bust the housing and spring a leak Thanks Kezz

yeah just do it tight. but there is prolly a tourque setting for it if u can be bothered finding the setting.

the cover is 20NM...
no idea how tight that is, never used a torque wrench... i just did it up tight, but not overly tight.. just make it tight, but not put your body behind it or anything... if it leaks abit, do it up tighter

Tighten them up evenly too. Dont do one tight and then start on the other.
Tighten them down in steps with even pressure each time. |

JUST DO THEM UP TIGHT ALSO PUT A BIT OF GREASE ON THE THEADS SO THAY DONT CRODE

By cover i assume you mean rocker cover? Get our ratchet, put it on, and grasp it around the head of it. Twist like a screw driver and dont over tighten!

With your thermostat housing cover bolts, dont go crazy like i did today otherwise you will snap the head off
then have to go to the wreckers. lucky i have a half decent one 5 mins away

alright boys last question lol
i got my genuine ford thermostat. should the gasket it came with be enough to keep it all tight or should i use some gasket goo too?

I just used the o-ring with no problems (as advised by Ford) but when i pulled it apart again after snapping the bolt I used a self adhesove gasket from repco. Just to be sure. I wasnt interested in doing it 3 times
