Just a quick note guys. Yes the beast is on the market, but hey, that doesnt mean i am gonna stop modding it. Pick up a set of EDELBROCK RPM heads later today, will have them assembled and machined soon. And the CMS 4Spot brakes are on and work awesomely. So yes, it is still being modded. Now does anyone have a 351W they would be willing to part with that needs rebuilding

Whats with the CMS brakes, how much did they set you back if you don't mind me asking, and did you have to modify the upright? Pictures? Or a link?

Cheers

Well, just a quick update. The panel works has started with the new rear bar painted and installed, and the BA bulge purchased and awaiting a time that suits my panel beater and me for installation.
Have recently purchased a Dart 351W block, can anyone say 427 Cubic Inch. Yes thats the way i am headed now. Will still be running NOS as the 5.0Bigshot for the RPMII intake has arrived. What i need now is a 427 stroker kit for the 351, and a set of either AFR 205, or 225's. Also does any one know if the majority of the externals will bolt up to the dart block. And last but not least, has anyone got an RPM or RPMII lower for a 351, as the5.0 manifold is too small. Sorry that wasn't the last of it, i am asking you guys for advice now, do i go 10.5:1 Comp and keep it NA or 9.5 Comp and fit a Capa Blower. Ideas and suggestions will be considered.

Brett

I'm curious as to power differences between compression ratio's also for my stroker.

Do I go 11:1 for LPG, or stay conservative at 10:1 for pump petrol, or drop to 9:1 for some boost.

What sort of performances difference would I see on LPG with 11:1 vs 9:1 ?

Or even comparing 10:1 to 8.5:1 for 98ron

Generally if you work on the basis that a 1CR increase = 2% power increase.

A safe rule is for cast heads is to take the fuel octane and move the decimal point over 1. eg 98 octane = 9.8CR. For alloys you just add 1CR point so 98 octane = 10.8CR. So 11:1 should be fine for PULP, just pay attention to quench distance when assembling the engine and get a decent tune.
