My car is seriously pissing me off, I was driving home today and had the climate control going. When I turned the car off, the climate screen turned off but the fan is still going full pelt.

I have had to disconnect the battery to shut it off.

Any ideas what it might be?

yeah I think it is the fan speed controller, I was browsing similar posts and found out where it was, I disconnected the four-wire plug and the fan turned off. I have left it unplugged for now.

I have a credit at my local wreckers so I will have a look there first, but will let you know if I cant find one, cheers.

Definately the fan speed controller is stuffed. The Power transistor shorts out due to moisture entering heater box. Replacement transistor can be sourced from electronics store for around $15 to $20.

Transistor part # 2N5686

Make sure you fit a new mica insulator and screw insulators. Otherwise it will short to out to the case.

just a word of advice, don't get ED spec ones as they have slighty different plugs.
