Alright i have a stock AUIII Falcon. Now I found a Tickford head from an AU XR6 (not VCT). Would their be any benefits from the head? Would a mild cam run better with the Tickford head, compared to my current stock head?

Did they have slightly bigger valves? Or anything?

Pretty T on the front might help it go faster but thats all valves are the same compression the same same not much different other than the cam on th AU.

Ahh well bugger that then. It could be helpful though, as if i do get porting done, it's already off the car, so i dont need to pay labour for the mechanic to remove the head and fit it again.

I think i'll save it, and do other things first.

Is there more of a difference between stock heads & tickford heads, in previous models? Is that why everyone upgrades?

Thanks.

the tickford E-series heads have slightly larger valve, thats the only difference. (oh and the red rocker cover!)

the cam is slightly more agressive too.

Basically...use the money from buying the tickford head and put that into some headwork! That'll have more of an effect than buying that head.

But seeing as its stock, then I wouldn't be doing head work as the first mod.
