Well i was looking for a sub to use in a small enclosure. I just bought a sub down the coast at a cash converters. I didn't think it was a free air sub.... but turns out it is when i checked the model number. (it's a pioneer TS-W304F, So thats what the F means...................
 ) Can they be used in enclosures still? will they sound crap? Should i beat myself in the head with a crowbar?

heh um i can't seem to remember, guess i hit myself in the head with a crowbar a few to many times.... oh wait $60.... I guess i will just buy a new enclosure sub heh. it might make a nice paper weight......

anyway what is a good sub for enclosure use heh. I'm not looking for huge amounts of power, but i want it to be able to handle a wide range of music and in particular death metal and speed metal. And would prefer boomier bass then thuddy. Anyway any help would be great, because obviously i know nothing about subs

i just tested the sub in a mates car and its sloppy and distorts, should be able to get a refund then.... i hope.

I built an enclosure for a friends free air 12" Pioneer and it worked pretty well.
Somewhere here i have all the specs on the Pioneer subs ever built. I'll check the specs and let you know what size enclosure suits.

ive got a a TSW-254F. i knew it was free-air so i just put an MDF board across the back of the seat covered it with some black carpet and done. Sounds good for its size but not very clear in the low ranges. but still kicks when its got the right beat going.

Not the best of pics and yeah the set up hasn't changed for some times. no money cheers phong
