Careful with the EBC's....
through years of using my beloved Bendix Ultimates, the rotors needed replacing. I made the mistake of getting EBC's with the new rotors, as i had heard that ultimates no longer had asbestos, and could get a bit noisy. ALL FOUR NEW ROTORS HAVE WARPED TWICE IN 5000 kms of sedate kiddy-in-the-back-seat driving. I have had those horrible pieces of s%^t removed, and gone back to what i know. long live bendix ultimates!

EBC Greenstuff is hard on the rotors ... EBC blackstuff isn't though.

I've had lucas pads for 30,000Km,
Their hard on the rotors and generate alot of dust, but damn well refused to fade at the recent phillip island track day I went to. They usually take untill the 3rd stop to warm up in the morning but good overall performance. For the street I will be changing to greenstuff though. -Or something with Kevlar in. Be wary of getting track brake pads, if you not in their correct operating range you will be just wearing out your disks and having worse performance.

They're supposed to be good on the road and they're also a race pad, so they're good on teh track aswell. Also, if you go proper race pads on the road, it's more along the lines of having a few spare bulkheads in teh back to replace when the brake pedal goes through.... and a spare steering wheel or two would be handy aswell. |

Disco Frank wrote: dyl wrote: ok so how much are a set of bendix ultimates? $140 ish a pair That seems a bit on the pricey side. I get them for $90 although that's through a friend @ Bursons. I would have thought $110-$120 would have been the normal price, but then, how tight do you really have to be if you're worried about $30 in 30,000km? It's getting to the stage where brake pads are cheaper than a tank of fuel these days. |

have used bendix; warped my rotors badly twice, V V dusty.
have used stock pads; warped rotors once, not dusty. have used EBC greednstuff; yet to warp anything in 30,000kms and 40,000 on the old car too, not too dusty, but certainly shows after a week of hard driving. All in all i'd go the ebc's; not saying the others arent good but its my personal exp.

Hey Daniel.. Off topic, but I was parked near you the other night at Fountain Gate. Your car was looking nice and clean.
