this'll be a long winder..............

its a wierd prob, i bought the car a few weeks ago and have done no electrical mods. drives pritty well (needs a tune) , but my friends said they thought i wasnt breaking at night????.

1. if i have my lights off and hit the brake pedal, the parkers and all thier assosiated interior lights come on (night or day, during day u have to be in dark to see their effects) foot of pedal lights go off .

2. turn the parkers/lights "on" and all works as it should, interior lights/headlights/parker brake lights , accept the fact my break lights get brighter. we had to reverse my car into a garage to see the brakes effects, on the road they are almoast unnoticable.

i will plan on going to ford soon to have it looked at. but i would like to know if anyone has had this problem.

Edit: when i start my car the accesories dont come on until the key is wound back bout 1>2mm from full, otherwise i just get lots of beeping from my speakers.

PLEASE, help me out here this is a really annoying and big problem

aaaaahh.. this is a tough one. i had this problem.

few steps i went through.. so here goes lol

1. your barrel if it does that, replace it. very easy and not too expensive nowadays

2. short somewhere in your tail lights or bulbs itself work but are faulty (happens oddly enuff)

3. your fuses for parkers/brakes (change them.. there 5c)

4. short somewhere or bad earth in your pedal or somewhere under your dash (possibly your foot moved cables or something, so check all things under there thoroughly with a torch).

5. short in the cluster itself making them comeon ..

try a few of those, see how you go .. mine disappeared and came back and now gone.. very odd mind you! i think was a short as since took dash out and back in seems to be good for now.

probably a quicker way but i havent found one unfortunatley lol

Most prob a bad earth , so when u put ur foot on the brake the earth is picked up through the other lamps.

Probably just a faulty stop/tail globe, or they have been installed incorrectly.

Could it be that a single filament light globe is plugged into a socket meant for a dual filament brake light globe?

Also, a common cause of light problems is badly wired trailer plugs, check that if you have a towbar.

i do have a towbar installed, the wiring is attached to the drivers side rear light by duel wire plugs, that leve the original wire uncut, but have the towpack wires connected in the same plug. hard to explain, sort of like a T joiner.

this problem is annoying for i cannot safly drive my car at night.

- the globes seem fine
- will recheck the pedal wireing again, lots of wires there because of my gas system.
- i'll steal some (working) globes from a friend and see if the problem persists.

thanks for all the suggestions, any more ideas would be great, thankyou.
