So who has had this issue?
When the Falc is at standard running temp, the car over revs when you put the clutch in for gear changes! Like massive rev increase. It behaves like a stuck cable, or an odd fast idle issue but it's not. The standard idle at the lights can vary from 1,500 to 2,300 (at which point you pull the clutch a bit to make it back off) it's the standard EF engine with no dizzy... so any ideas? |

Its you idle control valve, I had the same problem with mine after my cam change.
The way I fixed it is to pull the valve off and clean it. then use the gasket to stecil out its shape onto a bundy can. then cut it out and when it comes to making the holes, make them about 1/4 of the size. This reduces the amount of control the computer has over your idle and the amound of air that bypasses the throttle body. then put it back on and voila!! I hope that makes sense, I've done it and I've also told a few ppl here to do it and we all swear by it.

Hmmm. Mine does the same thing on Petrol, not on gas.
I would have assumed that the ECU was still controlling the ISC while running on gas. Is this not the case? Mine feels more like there's not enough decel enrichment from the ECU. |

The same issue with Gas is a little more complex, as the gas gear controls a lot of that...

Its not normal for the cars to do this and I am stuck as to why it is doing it.
About a month or two ago it was fine and doing what you would expect. But now the revs hold on gear changes. Hmmmm. |

All I know is that this is a common thing to happen when you have cammed your car as the ecu freaks out because there isn't enough vacuum.
For me, this method fixed it because it was cause by my cam which is quite lumpy. However, you are right...If the car is stock and is doing this, it indicates that there could be another problem.
