Are there performance coil packs for the EF ? If so who make them and how much are they?

I did some looking around and wasnt able to find anythin. I did find the MSD Digital 4 though. that taps into your ignition and has a twin spark system goin, all you need for that is a awsome set of leads and plugs the abilty to do some wiring and then your done. 2 of em went on ebay recently for bout $400 i think.

My coil shat itself bout a month ago i just put a new standard one in and new set of leads and plugs, good as gold now

ef coilpacks are pretty good to begin with, as opposed to ed/el single coil.

Look at Screamin Demon. They offer coil packs to suit AU XR8. You could easily adapt those to work on a 4L EDIS system, just dont use one pair of coils :)

MSD has some options for coil pack optiosn... but they're not cheap.

i'm not sure about this, as i havnt been bothered to look at them for my car, as some people get a lot more power than me with the standard coil packs.

but a Commodore friend of mine got msd performance coil packs for his VN V6, and the gave a very small increase in top end power, but gave a bit in the mid range, basicly smothed out the engine, and he claims a bit more economy.

just my two cents.

i beg to differ on the need for awsome leads and plugs.

i have a DIS-4 on my EF with standard top gun 8mm leads and denso plugs.

install is easy cut the 4 wires leading to your coil pack splice in the MSD harness. ground 2 wires from the MSD and suply permenent power to one wire.
it uses the coil power wire to switch on and off.
