Silastic in between the braces and the boot skin, but not too much. Or if its the back panel around the reversing lights, try taking it off and using foam.

urethane is better as some silcone is acidic and may eat into the boot, you can buy stick on foam strips like weather seals for home doors to use on the tail lights so if they have to be removed they wont be stuck on with foam or silicone. with the boot bracing it will pay to sace it a little with matches or similar to seperate the the surfaces to allow the urethane to get in there.
