Ok, i have a a EL XR6 AUTO. It will be a manual in a week as the auto is going to die and always wanted it as a manual. Ill have around $5,000 to spend around Febuary and really want this car to have some balls. JMM is about 5 min away from where i live, but after reading in these forums, it looks like i wouldn't beable to achive my desired power going to JMM when going on a real dyno. My car has done around 230,000km and haven't had to do my head gasket yet but have had to do my coil pack since i'v bought it when it had only done 100,000km 3.5 years ago.
What can i do???

It's Performance Engine Developments, Sydney.
You'll get the power you want (on real dyno's) including a full engine rebuild.

He's cheaper than JMM. And Waggin's had JMM work on his car, so if he's recomending the competion, then you know he's gotta be good! Although Ithink Mark has or will be working on his car too...
Mark's on the site, so contact him, as he'd be the best person to answer you questions! |

As Waggin said, call Mark, but if you're doing the manual conversion as well why not hang out and do the engine and gearbox together ?
re: the clutch and diff, I have just had a stage 4 engine fitted (170kw) and Mark's is around ~185kw and both are ok with a standard spec clutch and diff. Mark can ship an engine anywhere for a few hundred See the thread on his engines here: http://www.fordmods.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=104

I'm using a PBR 'RPM' clutch. Works a treat and has been good for 183RWKW.
My previous clutch was a Daiken Heavy Duty. Only ever slipped once (must've been a good tank of fuel!). The only difference between the 2 is that the Daiken felt alot heavier

I thought PBR and RPM were 2 different brands ??
I had a standard (a littler heavier duty than standard but not heavy duty as such apparently) PBR fitted to mine (and a new clutch cable) and now it's rediculously light! Lighter than my girlfriends festiva! It hasn't slipped yet, but I've been pretty nice to it. I guess a trip out to WSID early next year will tell I had clutch places warn me off heavy duty clutches saying they'll crack firewalls and break pedal boxes. Too late, I've already done both!

I'm sure it was an PBR 'RPM Series' clutch. I may well be wrong. I'll ask RMA ^jAsE^.
There was far too much happening when that was done. Engine, clutch, steering rack and radiator. Its got a pretty yellow plate Looks very shmick

i know it would be alot easier to do it in one shot, just take it all out and replace the engine and tranny in one hit, plus it would be less work. but my auto is slipping bad, and dont think it's going to last during the summer. I really dont want it to slip when i need it most (e.g, crossing a highway)... thanx for you input guys.. i lov the forum here.. i usually just read alot.. never really post..
