Really Really Stupid Question!!!! WHERE IS THE FRIGGEN SPIGOT BEARING!!!!

From what I have been reading in my workshop manual, it lies, And I Do Quote, "The End Of The Crank Shaft". Engine Side? Behind the Fly Wheel or in front?? How much for a new one?

Also, what are the resistors that I need to do an auto to manual conversion? auto temp sensor, and the one to make it think its in drive. From what I have discovered, the temp one is apparently 1650ohm. But what is the one for drive? I could imagine it wouldnt be a massive resistance. Mabey around the 1 volt mark.

it sits in a hole bored in the flywheel end of the crankshaft

Take the flywheel off and the spigot or pilot bearing lies in the end of the crank, it supports the very end of the gearbox input shaft.

To remove the spigot bearing, completely fill the centre of the bearing with grease, then find a bolt that will fit in to the hole without being too tight. Hammer the bolt onto the grease, the hydraulic pressure you will build up behind the bearing is usually sufficient to pop the bearing out.

Not much, they're only a small bearing so less than $10

Bearing shops are usually cheaper than Genuine.

G'day

Not sure on price but i know that a new thruster bearing that goes with the clutch fork on t5 is about $120 new non genuine, not even gona ask ford how much!!!!!!!!

Shouldn't be as expensive but be prepared cause it may be.

You guys are all screwed up, your thinking of the spRigot bearing.....

The spigot is the one that sits in the ...................f**k wrong again!!

A thrust bearing and a spigot bearing are entirely differant, spigot bearings are usually just a normal roller bearing and very small. Price should be cheap if bought from a bearing shop, forget about buying one from Fraud.

Ok guys, Thanks for all the help. I di go genuine and for reference, the bearing was $18 all up. I have managed to do the conversion.......... Well sorta!! Couldnt trick the ECU (Smart Bugga) So I'm picking up a Manual ECU tommorow morning. The c onversion over all wasnt bad, That was untill I realised that I was missing the clevis that attaches the clutch cable to the pedal. So, off to Ford again, and for a little bit of useless information, that cost $2.50 :shock:
