i brought my new fuel pump to replace the one that decided to leave lovely shiny bits of metal in the bottom of the swirl pot - as i discovered when it stopped working (see earlier posts) to replace it...
newayz, 200 bucks later at Autobarn, i have a new pump. prob is, the new one is a good 10 - 15mm in diametre smaller than the original one. i took the new pump + casing + old pump back to them today, to see what the deal was, and spent 45mins there while the guy looked thru all his parts books to look it up, and called the help desk for the ppl that make this one (Fuel mizer). They came to the conclusion that it IS the correct part.. just wondering if ne1 has had ne similar probs with fuel pumps in these.. and also, should i just take it back to them and get my money back, or can i pack around the fuel pump & rubber gromet on the top of the swril pot to make it sit nice and still? thanks muchly

If it isnt perfect, return it! You pay for correct things, you may as well get them

i got the pump for a SPECIAL price - they knocked 50bucks off it for me...
yeah i decided that il take it back, and maybe go to repco n get them to get me a Bosch one - that will fit! lol i dont like the idea of running a pump that i got from a wrecker.. to it will prolly be cheaper to start off with, it might die the same way as this one has. im not after a higher flowing / higher performance one (yet) i jst wanna get one that fits - so i can try n get it licensed again

Direct Auto Spares: $325.00 @ trade prices (norm >$400.00) Repco: $345.00 Direct have one sitting on the shelf that i can take.. repco would needa order iti n for me.. and that will take at least 2 days or sumthing.. i dunno what to do really... might go and grab one from a wrecker after all n save up a lil money to get a new one.. i wanna get one soonish.. coz the fuel tank is sitting in the garage open atm - covered, but yeah.. open...
