mm best way

go to a nice safe lonley rd...

get to 6okmh and SMASH THE BRAKE PEDAL and brake hard liek put your foot to the firewall!

if teh wheels lockup u do not have abs
if the wheels shudder and the brake pedal pulsates then u have abs :)

or what u could do is take off a wheel and have a look for the ABS reluctor ring

front left wheel arch at the front great big things with alot of little metal lines running to it, should say something about brakes and ABS in it too, easiest way to check.

I also believe at the master cylinder ABS have 2 brake lines, and non-abs have 3 brake lines coming from it.

Yep. ABS fuses and warning lights can be removed, ABS stickers (high brake light) can also be removed... control modules can not.

Jack front passenger side of car up, remove inner guard (front) from wheel well and see if the ABS module is present.

nope the master cylinder will have only 3 lines comign from it regardles of abs or non abs as teh 2 front wheels (left and right ) both have a separate line and while the 2 rears shar the same line

now for fun there is 4channel and 3 channel abs :)
3 channel is 2 front wheels l and R
and both rear wheels ie if the left front wheel and the rear right wheel lock up on braking, while the right front stays moving then BOTH the rear brakes will be released and so will the left front, the right front brake will not be affected

4 channel has 4 brake lines, 1 for each wheel so each wheel can be unlocked independant of the other unlike 3 channel abs were both rear wheels are 1 channel :)

ps 3 channel systems are far more common and are fitted to falcs :)
not sure about lanes and the new ba's could have 4 channel

cheecking for the reluctor ring wont work because u cant buy discs from alot of manufacturers without them. far in front to look for the ABS sensor itself

Yeah should have a module located here. Just because the disc has a pulse ring doesnt mean the car has ABS. Ive got ABS discs but havent got ABS.

This is correct, if you look inside the LHF wheel arch and notice 4 brakelines going forward of the suspension unit, then you have ABS - you don't need to remove any covers to see this.

Correct, the third line which is on the lower master cyl goes to the front right brake caliper on Non ABS cars, ABS cars have a blanking bolt instead.
