ive just done auto to maual conversion of an EF , no problems with box and pedals , even got a manual ECU .

Now the problem begins , the loom from the box Im pretty sure is from an ea eb , of course the car wont start ! , the loom on the auto is entirley different colored wires to the manual , Ive read the article in here on rewireing after converstion ,(not sure who wrote it ) but I just can tell what wires go where or if I have to get a EF manual loom??
the three looms , auto (6 wires) manual (seven wires) and car (8 wires are all different colors , not matching

just about round the bend with this , any help would be appreicated

sounds like what happened with my car. Get a wiring diagram for both looms, and work out the wires.
Does it crank?

Also for future reference - try naming the threads something more descriptive.

i itnhk you should be able to use the el auto loom, are you good with wire cuters??
i swapped from auto to manual, is the gear box and old loom have same 3pin speedo plug?? triangle shape plug??.

then the gear selector was another 4 pin plug (sqaure one)but so is the reverse lights one. make a short crossover bit of wire with plugs so you can put in it the plug to short it out, and make it think it was in park.
i just tryed each one till the car started, then the reverse light where on the other plug, bit of playing round and abit dodgy maybe, but it's works.
alot easier than tryin to read the bloodly wiring daigram for it, IMHO.
can take some pics and get color wires for you if need be, bit wet and cold this time a night tho.

yeah, I guess wiring diagrams aren't for every person. And testing it out could be another method. Either way, whatever gets you through it.
