Our work ute blew the head gasket late last week. We got it brand new it's a BA E-Gas ute, only done 30,000km's, and to be honest it's been treated like a baby! The managers barely ever let us drive it, only when there's an engine or something to pick up, and besides that the boss man just drives it to and from work each day.
The bloody Daihatsu Matiz have lasted longer! And those get a thrashing, stupid automatic 1 litres or soemthing ridiculous like that!

Thats a bit f**k dodgy. As long as its a work ute though and its not out of your own pocket. Thats probably the only good thing that comes out of it

You shouldn't have to pay, that should be a warranty claim if evr there was one. 100k or 5 years isn't the warranty on those things

yeh it would be under warranty, its to early for it to be out of warranty with such a small amount of k's on the clock.

First BA head gasket I've heard of!
Surpising, especially that early.
Must be an assembly fault I'd guess.

yeah, as far as I know it was covered under warrenty. I was just really suprised to hear it blew. The guy who was driving it at the time said stem just started coming out of the engine bay. Queer stuff.
