Hi guys heard many rumours that AU T5 boxs don't fit in E-series is this true or is it s**t.

it will fit u need the E series bellhousing thats all well that is what i have been told, and i think the gear selector is in the wrong spot

They dont fit!! Not only do you need the bell housing for the el but you also need to change the extension housing. The housing on an au is longer than a xf-el. I was going to put an au xr6 box in my xf cause it was the same price as the ed xr6 ive got now but they are different. Cheers

But its possible to make a hybrid if you already have an EL T5. Like swap extension housings, bellhousing and input shaft.

bell housinf is no probs as ill just use my current i6 one same with inpute shaft just worried about the rest? how hard is it to change the extension housing and what part is that

G'day
The extension housing is the back part where the gear lever comes through. The gearbox itself is in its own compartment. The extension housing bolts to this, it should be a straight swap but i'm not sure. Cheers
