Got a intermittent noisy lifter/lash adjuster, just wondering what is in a "Valve lash Adjuster Repair Kit" got quoted $30 from two different auto shops. One had them in stock but only contained 12 plastic rings, looked like retaining rings to me, a lot of money to pay for 12 pieces of plastic.

the plastic rings are new seals for the lifters
basically u take the lifters out and replce the plastic clips with the new ones then re install the lifters i know a few ppl who have done this and it has worked and others it has not could be a too thin a oil depending on kms of engine or a bad lifter that new seals wont fix.. pity the lifter are $40 each

Thanks for the reply Disco Frank, I think I'll get the new seals and fit them when I replace the standard cam with something better, hopefully in the next couple of months.
