Hey Guys I am just wondering if a Twin Turbo Setup from a Series 5/6 RX7 would be big enuf for my EA Falcon as I am looking at Turbo Charging it.

Do u happen to know what type of turbos were run in these cars ? Dont know off hand.
At the end of the day its always how much do you wanna spend....almost anything can be fabricated and modded to work just may not be the most practial out come. I'd have a good read through these forums and you might find options that will produce great end results without spending loads of $$$. Sound like a nice concept though

No way would I use that setup.
They are a very problamatic setup due to the multiple soleniods and the cracking of the exhaust manifold. If I remember correctly one of the turbos has no wastegate which recieves its exhaust from the 1st turbo. They are more valueble as spare parts in an attempt to keep all the existing ones running. You would have more luck running 2 RX7 ser 4 turbos. They would probabaly need a rekit but you can get them for ~$150 ea if you look in the right spots. This setup should make up to about 300rwhp if setup right with lag. If you want to do it 2nd hand than you would actually be better off looking for a used TA45 truck turbo and rekit it with a modified TO4b or e turbine housing. This would produce more power and last a lot longer. I have seen a guy do this on a 13B turbo VW Kombi, made 400rwhp@10psi and the whole turbo like above cost him $1200. His setup was 100% junkyard even down to the 3" mild steel pipe bed sections form the tip used for intercooler piping. GCG are selling new turbos with 38mm tial wastegates for ~$1750. At those prices its hard to go 2nd hand and save money. Turbo products have dropped in price over the last 6-8months quite noticeably. |

Yeah I have scrapped that idea and thinking about getting two turbos off a RB20 as they are two litres so two should be big enuf for 4.0L and I am going to also hi-Flow them too. would this be a good setup compared to one big one as in lag and the such and would you be able to get about 250kw out of them?

Hey guys been looking around on ebay and found a couple of Turbos which one do you guys think would be the best for my application

The 1st and last are most likely Chinese. The first runs a 60-1 comp wheel, very vesatile wheel, excellent for low boost too. My turbo uses this wheel.
The 2nd runs unknown wheels in it. It would work but how well, you can't tell without that info. I would recomend RB25 turbos over hiflowed RB20 turbos, this is what a RB25 turbo kinda is. AFAIK the rear of the RB25 is almost identical but with a larger compressor wheel. RB20 should be good for at least 100rwkw each at ~10-12psi and the RB25 120ishrwkw. A CORRECTLY sized single turbo will make at least 300rwhp with no noticeable lag. I expect to make boost by 2000rpm and have full boost by at least 2500rpm. I am running a .81 exhaust housing. The trade off will be that this will start to choke my top end at anything more than 400rwhp. A properly split pulse .96 housing and manifold should do apparently 400rwhp with minimal lag issues, like an additional 300rpm. |

The link below gives the dimensions of a 60-1 Turbo with a P Trim Exhaust. This is a 630hp rated turbo.

Otherwise go to a truck driver next you are at a servo and ask to see the turbo, that should be T4. Yes, a T3 housing will flow less than a T4 housing but is obviously easier to fit in. |

so a T4 would be big enuff for a 6 cylinder motor?
I am looking at something that will get me around 250kw at the whells but be able to be easily upgradeable. |

GT 3540 run T3 flange size and the'll run rings around a T4.. T4 and T04 is the same turbo...
Almost any turbo that makes 600 + h.p will work on 4.0..Even a .63 AR turbo housing, BUT the exhaust wheel will have to be 2 1/2 inches...
