Guys, guys, guys, (and girls ...)

If someone ever gets the chance .... dyno Opti-crap againts the BP Ultimate .... I think you may find the BP slightly better, and definatley more consistent ... not quite sure why .....

All the hype around Opti-crap .. maybe because it was the first to the market, or the added TV marketing ... everyone believes in it .....

But BP ULTIMATE EATS THE shell stuff.

The bestway to get the best out of 98oct is to advance your timing until it pings under HOT working load then retard your timing 1 deg at a time , when it don't ping anymore retard the timing a degree further as a safety margin, Just be sure to use it all the time or she'll ping her guts out
also by doing the timing it should better fuel economy as well.

yes it would but how u advance timing a AUXr6 that has coil packs!

With great difficulty!!
or go out & buy ,install an aftermarket ECU with programming capabilities for the ignition.
I was led to believe the coil pack AU's, advanced the timing to the most optimum timing to suit the fuel being ran , isn't that one of the purposes of knock sensor? ,I don't Know I am just stating what I was told????

the reason why i say this is that have u ever being 2 a serrvo and their tanks r low well same s**t that happends if u run ur car with low fuel in the tank u will f**k the fuel pump so im waiting at least 2weeks before i buy any optimax as i have just replaced the fuel pump

It eats it because ultimate has a longer shelf life than optimax. Optimax tends to go stale much quicker than ultimate.

I recently used a premium fuel from a no name servo in Appin, and when I asked the octane rating, the big fella said that it was 102ron, I nearly fell over doubting him but he claimed they were trialing a new fuel from a BIG name fuel Co. to see if anyone noticed the difference, So I put it to the test ,my car is timed to run on 98 so I advanced the timing about 3-4 degrees to 36deg total advance ,& guess what it ran like a charm but next time I used Ultimate it pinged under heavy acceleration?
Maybe he wasn't s**t me, & for $1.12L it was good value :?:
