hey guys,

I think my headgasket might be blown, once a week I generally gotta fill it up with water, sometimes i'll fill it up and then ill drive somewhere and stop and it will leave a big puddle coming from the overflow hose that runs out of the radiator bottle. Dont think its gone 2 bad just yet, but what can happen if I let this go for a bit longer, can anything REALLY bad happen? or will it just get worse with time?

How much would I be lookin at to replace it?

Can you see any water stains running down the engine out of the head.
I'd get it fixed as quick as possible if I were you cause you wouldn't want oil getting into your coolant or water into your cylinders vice versa

Yeah, True. I checked under the oil cap & there is no white milky substance, So I figure it musent be that major.. Still.. I think there fairly expensive to replace.

if you do the head gasket now it will be alot cheaper as they don't have to flush the reat of the engine. also if it overheats you might damage or warp the head. so get it fixed now and save heaps of money and time.

It is possible that its just the radiator cap.

Other than that it sounds as though you are getting combustion gases into the cooling system and over pressurising it. If this is the case you can confirm it by having the coolant tested.

Causes; porosity holes in head, blown head gasket, cracked head.

check your exhaust for water first, if theres water its a good chance you've done your gasket, if theres no water you might just have a split hose, do a compression test on you resivour to see if you have any split hoses. if your with racq they'll come out and do it for you and see what the problem is.

A lot of exhausts....especially aftermarket ones spit out water while the car is warming up.

Cause mine's running so rich it was always spraying water when I revved it.

get a compression test done if thats fine then replace your coolant tank cap cause thats what I reckon it is.

Does water come out the overflow only when its hot i.e is the water that is coming out hot? if so it could just be your thermostat. I would check that first
