hi all...
my mate has been inspired to turbo his factory LPG AU ute after seeing my turbo XF falcon...(not running yet but lol)
his car still has the factory mixer but he has 2 B2 converters sitting there waiting to be put on and he would like to start planning the turbo setup...
my questions are:
1. will the factory mixer flow enough in blo-thru fashion or will he need to upgrade??? i think it will low enough for reasonable power but maybe a GRA 440 later on...?
2. do the factory LPG falcons have a higher compression than petrol ones??? (not a problem as yet but would like to know)
3. how do some of the turbo AU's have their intercooler piping going would it be close to what an EA/B falcons would look like ? (i ask that because than i can just look at CHEF's) can someone please post a few pics...

higher compression yes.

there is a guy on AFF who turbo'd his AUextaxi, full taxi spec LPG setup and he loves it.
I personally wouldn't recommend doing a 1/a*** turbo install unless you're prepared to do damage to something.

this wont be half assed if thats what you ment (i cant read it) but it wont be anything close to pyroays build either....
planning on ba rods and pistons and lower compression a little but im told by a gas fitter that the stock gas mixer will flow 400 CFM ish which will be higher under a blo thru boosted situation... twin B2's will flow ample and the exhaust will be upgraded extra oil coolers for the transmission etc... it wont be dodgey and it will be tuned very well...
does anyone know the compression of a factory tickford LPG AU engine (series 2)

The dual fuel is the same as the petrol only engine. I think the straight gas engine gets bumped up by 0.3:1 by the use of a smaller combustion chamber in the head. The rest is identical.

So let me get this straight. Your mate is using a pair of B2 converters with the factory brass mixer ring and factory closed loop control? I never really thought about that. I was always of the assumption that B2 converters were always GRA territory. Anyway I'm watching this thread intently. Hope it all works out. If it does it will open the flood gates for all the people owning factory LPG falcons who want more grunt without switching to GRA.

not quite...
his falcon has a throttle body type mixer... factory
so it already has a GRA mixer... at least thats what his boss is telling us... i will find out some more info as soon as possible...

im still not sure if its a GRA throttle body or not but it will flow 350CFM ish
he hasnt actually put the two B2's in yet but will soon we are not sure if the mixer is compatible.... if not a new GRA mixer will be required...
