i'd doubt it..... ford were running out of windsors in the middle of the XW run, although that may only may have been the 351 windsors....

wat did i tell you fordza. now bow down and kiss my feet. this guy was arguing with me that the first windsor came out in the EB hahahaha! the first windsor that ever came was in the 65/66 mustang a 289 windsor. america invented the windsor. then their was the 289W XR 302W xy, 302W xw and so forth

they simply stoped creating the 351 windsor because they planned to bring in the 351 clevlend in the xy. the xw GT was the only falcon to have the 351 windsor. its a shame too as i was told that they were a great motor. revd like s**t. the 302 has been around since the XT in 68 |

Well it helps to be more specific.... 351w or 289/302w?
XW GT and some ZC Fairlanes had the 351w and the later ones got the 351c. 302w were available from XT to XY. Only late('72ish) XY's got a 302c when a car was ordered with the smaller V8. You do get some anomalies like, for example I have seen a '71 ZD Fairlane with a 289, suppose they figured no one notice because externally they look identical. Pete. |

Actually, the windsor design started before 65 with the 221 V8 in Fairlane Compact/US Falcon, then grew to 260 before becoming the 289 with early versions having 5 bolt bellhousing until mid 65 when they changed to 6 bolt.
