The backlighting on my instuments especially the outer gauges oil, volt, fuel ,temp. are very dull. What might this be? Has anyone else had similar prob???? The taco is only half lit as well??

maybe a couple of the globes are blown, that gives u the perfect excuse to put some Blue LED's in :D

Did XR's get the instrument dimming function like the Ghia's?

No because XR and Li/Futura are interchangable withoput tat stupid resistor.

Must only be on the high series BEM then in which case it's not something simple like the dimming having been set too low. I guess it is a globe problem then.

my EF GLi cluster can be dimmed. Next to the headlight switch, is a second small sitch on the left hand side, bottom is dull, middle is bright and top is bright and interior lights on!

Middle and top are the same brightness for the cluster. The top just adds the interior lights.
