I have recently bought myself a sub for my EB Falcon and I was just wondering when you install one, should you take it easy with the volume of the stereo, just so the sub has time to wear in, or doesn't it matter?

i've heard that some subs and speakers need time to wear in. the sound gets tighter, but not sure if i believe it though.

Yes all speakers need time to bed in. The suspension starts off stiff and needs to sofen over time and the sound will change as well.
Dont need to go too easy but dont drive it flat out either. a range of music at differing volumes the same way you bed in a new car engine at a range of revs in different gears...

Ok, thanks for the advice so far people. Obviously i will have to wear it in. If anyone else has any experience in wearing in new sub's, just give us a lil summary. Cheers.

Yeah i would suggest you turn the Gain down on the amp too, that way you can still enjoy your music but the sub wont be pumping as much, thats what i did and it seemed to work.

Normally a good way to to it otherwise you have your gains set just dont throttle the volume on your HU or at higher volumes have the bass/sub volume on full....won take long for them to begin wearing in
