If your getting an exhaust, extractors and Hi-flo cat fitted, does it matter wear the cat is positioned. This guy from Ian Diffen was telling me that the hi-flo cat would create a lot of heat under where the drivers feet are and that you can move it further back. Would this create a problem, like any back pressure.

Heat is what makes the cat work, moving it further from the motor will compromise its ability to work and likely make the car un-roadworthy if moved too far, but 20 or so cm should not be a problem. Back pressure will not change significantly by moving it. Cheers Tony.

How do you mean un-roadworthy. It will obviously affect the performance of the car if done

He means if the cat doesn't function properly, your car's emissions will rise.
Hence the unroadworthy factor. But like Frank said, most aftermarket extractors move the cat back a tad, which ain't no biggy.
