colder engine = more fuel use...

Actually all it is, is a 15k 1/4 watt, the colour code is gold, oronge, red, brown.
this fools the ecu to calculate fuel mixtures as if the intake air temp is 0 degrees C, therefore being denser, needing a richer fuel mixture as if it was cold, the main problem with this mod is , the ecu also uses coolant temp for calculations, therefor confusing the ecu. to rectify this problem use a colder thermostat & modify the temp signal going back into the ecu, If you do all of this ,remember the temp guage will be incorrect aswell I gained 15hp at the treads by doing this mod, but my engine isn't quit standard. kenny

Using this mod will have no direct effect on fuel or spark as they don't use the ACT sensor. The only effect it will have is giving a very slightly higer load reading which indirectly will give a touch more fuel but also a little less timing while at medium throttle (engine loads of 40-60%), but while at cruising and wide open throttle it will have no effect at all. It is also worth noting that the effects at medium throttle are so small, and the increased performance due to a richer mix will be easily offset by the decreased timing advance.
The other effect it will have is to negate the EEC safety mechanism that retards timing if air charge becomes too hot (to help stop pinging). This only happens with ACT sensor readings over 75 degrees, and in most cars you should not reach that and if you do you shouldn't worry about the performance lost by the EEC retarding the timing by 1-8 degrees. |
