Hey guys, how exactly do you get the cruise control buttons of your steering wheel? cos mine are rattling really bad when im at the lights and the car is idling.. really annoying! anyone help?

To remove the buttons completely you need to remove the air bag.
The button covers are whats likely to be rattling, they clip into the button base. I tried to remove them so I could put some sponge behind them, instead I broke the clips off  I ended up replacing mine.

Rob, check out http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopi ... highlight= , in particular what the last thread suggested. Madmax - I noted in that thread your replacements were EF ones, I have a set of EL ones. I'm after a set of EF's, PM me if you're interested in swapping.

Or the screws that hold them in are coming loose and need tightening.

does anyone know whether just the covers are available as ford only stock the complete set, at like $150.
broke mine off when i accidently punched it a while back.

As we all know when removing the buttons the clips break anyway. All i did was apply a small dob of silicone behind the botton towards the outer edge, held into place whilst drying with tape. No more rattles and alot cheaper than new ones.

I was about to suggest exactly that. I did the same thing and the've never rattled since. |

i broke the clip on the volume buttons for my au steering wheel, and i just superglued the buttons back on. Been like that for months now and they still work fine.

Very tight at first, which is really nice. And thats how you want it, really tight, just gently, ease it down, slowly and gently, until your all the way down. You'll find with a few goes she'll get easier, the more you do it. But the button, which I'm guessing you use your thumb to press it with, gets easier to work at. And if you do it right, it won't vibrate, but it'll be really nice to the touch.
