Hi, I feel like an idiot BUT,,, in an EF whats the exclamation mark in a circle underneath the parkbrake symbol on the vertical instment panel above the odo mean, anyone?

That indicates your starter is engaged or something, doesn't it?

Braking System Failure The red symbol will illuminate while the ignition is switched to the START position before the engine has started running. This serves as a check that the bulb is operational. If this does not occur, or if the lamp remains illuminated while the engine is running, have the braking system checked.

Thanks heaps guys. Brakes seem alright, fluid is fine, but i'll get 'em checked.

This light can stay on after bleeding the brakes. The switch sits underneath the master cylinder - remove the connector, and unscrew the switch. Pump the brake pedal a feel times to settle the system. Reinstall the switch and it's connector.

well no not nessesarily, it is a warning and like Ray said could be as simple as a stuck switch in the brake reservoir, air in the line, low fluid etc etc. You always have your emergency brake anyway if you get in the s**t!
