the sender wont be a problem. the gear on the end will be the problem. you may need to go up or down a few teeth.

The auto EB in the shed has a 3.27. Is it the same unit, and will it fit in a 5-speed?

I get what you're asking ;)
All speedo senders are the same, auto or manual :D
But like Leroy said it's the gear on the end that's the problem.
Little plastic thing, that depending on colour, has a different amount of teeth to provide correct speed reading.
Use the speedo calc on Tech Docs.

Well since we put a 3.27 in the EA, and the EB is a 3.27 I assume it will be the right one. A light green one (hopefully).

Cheers.

You do realise you can just take the plastic gear off the end of the speedo sender?
Also use the speedo calc

http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=30

to find out for sure.
You can get em from Fraud for like $10 if you need another one.

the gears should be the same ratio if the colour is the same.
