I pulled the BEM in my car out to check the part No. of it and while i was looking at it, (though the slots in the side) I noticed that the printed circuit and some of the electrical components had rust and a white powder on it.

Would this affect the operation of the BEM?

The BEM will be efected by water damage, This is commen problem and it is recomended to place plastic around the BEM, The water comes from the Air conditioner

oh ok! thanks for that, I've been trying to fix things in my car for a while now and couldn't figure out what was the prob! Until i looked at this BEM, it looks pretty badly rusted inside, but surprisingly only the adjustable antenna and one of the door ajar sensors doesn’t work
