Mate. Before you do anything get the error code from the ABS system. I had a intermitant light on situation and found it to be the front left sensor plug where it connects to be body. Was just a dud conneciton. The system will hold the error for 50 starts but if full on then no problem getting the code. I think there is a hw to in the doco section of this forum. THe previous owner of my car spend heaps on Ford trying to find the fault. and still did not fix it. I found it in 15 min once I knew what the error code was. The plug connector retainer was broken and did not make correct conneciton all the time. PM me if you want more info.

In my case the diagnostics didn't work at all. If this happens it will defiately be the ABS Module.

But like bdennis said, if you do get an error code it'll tell you pretty much exactly whats wrong. Worth a shot.

Mate. You dont need a diagnostic plug. Just a wire with clips on the end so you can short thew wire 2 pins and away you go.

Once you jumper the correct pin in the diagnostic plug under the fuse box. The ABS light on the dash will flash. THis is the way you get the code.

ok so it will flash so many times to indicate the code?

Mate< once you get it into the diag mode the bet thing to do is wrie down the times it flashes.
So for example..
Every 1/2 a second write down what the light is doing. Remeber that it will most likely show the error 3 times. Write 1 for the light on and 0 for when it is off.
so for a car that has error 45 (right front detector error) it will look something like this on your note pad.
1 1 1 1 0 0 1 1 1 1 1 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 1 1 1 0 0 1 1 1 1 1 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 1 1 1 0 0 1 1 1 1 1.

See the first number is a 4 then the second number is a 5 (5 1's) then there is a separator code that is 1 0 neaming 1 flash then a pause, then it shows 4 5 then the separator 10 and then 45 again.
Make sense??

No problem at all. Did not mean to sound grumpy. Gald to help. Keep asking questions if you ahve any more. I dont want you to get ripped off by a mechanic / ford when you can do stuff your self esp if it is a simple fix.
