Well, i just put my new side mirror on the car on saturday. It fits nicely and what not, but it whistles!!

Over about 60 km/h it gets a really loud whistle happening, very loud in fact, and it is driving me karazy already.

It all looks fine, no obvious flaws in it, but has anyone got any suggestions on how to stop it? Or had the same problem with aftermarket mirrors?

Thanks

Is it seated up against the door properly? No gaps?
Was there a backing panel of foam rubber on the back of it?

yeah, the foam bit was there.

And there is a little bit of gappage at the front of the mirror, where it goes to the door, i took a photo but you cant even see it.

The other bit that it might be, looking at it again, there is a gap between the black thing at the bottom of the window (techincal terms  ) and the back edge of the mirror...

hrmm... oh well :(

Technical term: Weather seal
I doubt thats the cause as mine has the same gap and doesn't whistle.
The small gap at the front maybe enough to cause it to whistle.
You could try removing and refitting it. If the gap is still there then maybe some urathane just under the front edge where it joins the door.

squeaky brakes could mean a couple of things but out of pads is a good start lol. so your g/f is probably right - you should get them fixed
