Hey guys,
A mate of mine just bought a AU series 1 Xr6 ute and is finding the clutch extremely heavy. Ive told him its just a heavy duty clutch but he is still complaining and asked me to ask the forum about it.

Are they usually a very heavy clutch with the gripping point quite high?

Thanks.

some are quite heavy yes, i found mine when i got it was very very heavy, gf's car as well.. hyena's is incredibly soft like a 4 cyl! and where shugs au was insanely hard due to his heavy duty clutch ..

guess it depends. he can get a lighter clutch if it bothers him so much

They usually are quite heavy, but it's usually because of one or more problems.
1. AS the clutch cables get old they can start cutting into parts of the rubber sleeve, making it extremely heavy.
2. My car just recieved a new pedal box due to the hinge point bending. This also made the clutch quite heavy, but might have been in combination with 1.
3. A friend of mine used to own an EL XR6. His clutch actually ripped a hole in the firewall where the clutch cable goes through!!

I suggest your mate gets it looked at, just to be safe. They are heavy clutches though.

Depends on what clutch he's got I guess.

Mine is so bloody light now that I have an Xtreme Clutch in there.
