Hey lads putting in tickford valve springs into my EFgli are there any power gains to be had from changing my stock springs to the tickford ones?

nope
you only really need stonger springs if you have a big cam installed as well, im would be suprised if the valve springs on the tickford models would be much different to stock |

if the heads off id look at something better than tickford valve springs, a set of crow cams springs maybe

you need to know what cam you are using befor you pick your valve springs.
no point in hard as springs on a mild cam. you'll only cause un needed valvetrain wear |

it all depends on what type of cam you want eg:high lift, you only need harder valve springs if you intent on driving at high rpm to stop valve bounce, which causes valve leaks due to valves not sitted properly during the 4 cycle stroke. that is the sole reason for harder springs. I can't remember if you can get them reharden again.

The dev3hl will need heavier duty valve springs for sure or you will live to regret it if you like to rev it out a lot. Lift is 0.525" and the stock springs won't like that.

Upto 600 thou lift and street use 110 pound springs will be suitable to 5500 RPM.
